    I used to play one of these in high school. It is a “baritone”, which plays in the treble clef, but sound like a bass instrument.

    Thanks Barry for shedding some light on this. I was wondering myself. It hangs on the wall of a vicar’s home, an old log-house now located in a countryside village museum area. It should be a pretty old instrument.

    Got here via Barry Comer…wow, this is a perfect pairing of object and background, beautifully quiet, and there’s something appealing about the horn being upside down, too.
